RCC Construction Runs Win Streak to 3 - Week 9 Roundup
1/22/2023

Bolton Construction got back in the win column with a solid 76-45 win over River Bend Pizza in Week 9 of the Over-The-Hill Basketball League. Building up a 15-point lead at the half, Bolton had four players score in double figures, paced by Tom Vitko’s 17 points. The well-rounded effort included good games from Rob Boshar (12), Gary Lytle (12), and Steve McCusker (11).  River Bend got good efforts from Rich Palermo (18 points) and Greg Wool (11) in the loss.

Civilworks New England solidified its grip on second place with a convincing 55-31 victory over Flynn Insurance. Jeff Barbour scored 17 points and Matt Stith had 15 to lead the victors, whose record is now 6-3. Jason Conway continued his steady play in leading Flynn Insurance with a game-high of 21 points.  Unfortunately, his comrades could only muster 10 additional points in the losing cause.

A stifling zone defense helped RCC Construction hold off Thompson Tavern 42-37 in the night’s final game. John Succi’s steady game (11 pts in the first half, 10 in the second) led the construction crew to the win. Jay Cloutier had 15 points in the loss for Thompson Tavern.

Wednesday night will have three more games as the regular season moves into its final quarter at the McConnell Center in Dover.
