DOVER — Civilworks New England got one of the season’s best games from Jeff Barbour in a convincing 58-43 win over River Bend Pizza. The doughboys had no answer as Barbour’s 37 points were a league high for the year. He had 25 in the first half as Civilworks raced to a 36-20 lead. Civilworks improved to 7-4 with the victory. Greg Wool had 15 points and Rich Palermo scored 14 in the loss as River Bend remained winless on the season.
In a well contested game two, Flynn Insurance outlasted RCC Construction 47-38. Jason Conway led the way for the winners, scoring 21 points. RCC, paced by Matt Langis’ 11 points, dropped their second straight and fell to 5-6 on the year. With the win Flynn Insurance moved to 6-5, tied with Thompson Tavern.
Mike Moulton raced the length of the court on a turnover and scored the winning basket late as Thompson Tavern nipped Bolton Construction 69-67. Four Thompson players scored in double figures led by Jay Cloutier (16) and John Rademacher (15). Mark Sipple and Doug Landon chipped in with 10 points each. For Bolton it was Gary Lytle who led the way with a game-high 23 points in the loss. He received excellent support from Dave Hersey (14) and Steve McCusker (12) as well.
There are three more games slated for Wednesday night at the McConnell Center in Dover as the league closes the regular season.
